Camping in Nature

Item of the Week

We aren't comfortable drinking tap-water out of our camper faucet and had been using bottled water.  We weren't happy with the amount of waste that produced, the money we were spending to buy water or the space all those bottles took up in the camper.  I started looking for a countertop water filter (not enough room in the RV fridge) and while I liked the idea of the Berkley, it was a little more than we really needed and sounded a bit complicated.

After much searching I found this Lifestraw 10 cup filter on Amazon.  It protects against bacteria, parasites, microplastics, lead, mercury, and chemicals including PFAS, chlorine, organic chemical matter (pesticides and herbicides) and is made from durable, BPA-free plastic.  it's easy to use and maintain.  The Membrane Microfilter lasts 264 gallons (1 year). The Activated Carbon + Ion Exchange filter lasts 40 gallons (2 months).  It's been perfect for our needs.
